EARN HIGH MARKS DURING UIL ORCHESTRA COMPETITION

Texarkana, TX – Texas High School orchestra students earned high marks during the Regional University Interscholastic League Orchestra Solo & Ensemble Contest in Longview, Texas on February 18.

Carson McCarver and Ariana Thompson received a Class 2 Superior Rating for Solo on Cello and Violin, respectively.

 Class 2 Excellent Rating for Solo on Violin was earned by Evan Carr, Natalio Castaneda and Ian Perez.  Class 2 Excellent Rating for Solo on Viola was awarded to Kenichi Pass and Devun Saveall.  Dre Springfield received a Class 3 Superior Rating for Solo on Violin.

 The String Quartet of Natalio Castaneda, Carson McCarver, Kenichi Pass and Ian Perez brought home a Class 2 Superior Rating for their musical talents.

 All students are instructed by Steve Bennett, TISD Orchestra Director and THS Assistant Band Director.
