Community and business leaders can access the knowledge and experience of world-renowned leaders when Leadership Texarkana hosts Leadercast® 2017 on May 5, from 8AM-3:30PM, as part of LIFT: the Leadership Initiative for Texarkana.  Leadercast is the world’s largest one-day leadership conference, broadcast LIVE from Atlanta and simulcast to hundreds of locations around the world annually.  This year marks the seventeenth year of the annual leadership conference and the fourth year that Leadership Texarkana will be hosting the event locally, this year in partnership with Texarkana, TX ISD and Texarkana College, and with promotional partner the Texarkana USA Chamber of Commerce. This year’s event will be held at TISD’s Sullivan Center.

Leadercast’s mission is to develop leaders worth following, with a unique focus each year on one element of that pursuit.  The theme of Leadercast 2017 is “Powered by Purpose,”  a powerful theme, since purpose serves to define us, drive us, and empower us.  Purpose is the key to fueling extraordinary results from teams and individuals.

Keynote speakers – all of whom embody purpose-driven leadership– will inspire hundreds of Texarkana-area attendees, along with the more than 100,000 individuals who will attend the event live in Atlanta, or who will view it at hundreds of other simulcast locations in more than 20 countries.   Leadercast 2017 speakers include:

o Daniel Pink  Behavioral Science Expert, NY Times Best-Selling Author, & Host of Crowd Control

o Tyler Perry  Director, Playwright, Screenwriter, Producer, Actor, Author & Entrepreneur

o Suzy Welch  Author, TV Commentator, & Business Journalist

Leadership Texarkana Executive Director Ruth Ellen Whitt says that,  “The knowledge presented during Leadercast each year is valued by attendees from every sector of the community; the vast majority of participants come as teams, in small (2) to quite large (100!) groups, with representation from industry, big and small businesses, healthcare, city government, public and higher education, churches and non-profits.  The CEOs and leaders who bring their teams use the Leadercast teachings as an invaluable springboard for growing their teams around shared leadership wisdom long beyond the day of the event.”

The piece of Leadercast that I value the most is having the opportunity to bring colleagues to this event and discuss how each speaker is speaking to us…  to share the same vision is invaluable.” Paul Norton, Supt TISD

“I plan to attend again this year and take several members of my leadership team with me. I would encourage anyone in a leadership position or anyone who desires to be in leadership to attend this energizing event.”  Robin Hickerson. Asst Supt, Texarkana Arkansas Schools

“Leadercast training has had a huge impact on our whole strategic plan. I bring my entire leadership team–It’s definitely worth the time”  James Henry Russell
