EIGHT TEXAS MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS QUALIFY FOR TMSCA STATE COMPETITION 

Texarkana, TX – Eight Texas Middle School 6th Grade students have qualified to attend the Texas Math and Science Coaches Association (TMSCA) state competition which will be held in San Antonio, TX on April 22.  Students had to meet minimum qualifying scores in Number Sense, Calculator, General Math & Science during qualifying rounds that were held in February and March.

 Moving forward at the state level are:  John Thomas Borowitz, Mason Franklin, Joe Haynes-Stewart, Said Hernandez, Olivia Huckabee, Braden McKinnon, Lawton Nichols and Alyssa Smith.

Formed in 1981, TMSCA is an organization formed by Texas math and science teachers to promote excellence in math and science through competition.
