Texarkana College Receives $87,000 Legacy Gift From Estate of Eleanor Seymour

March 24, 2017- The Estate of Eleanor Seymour distributed a $87,060 legacy gift to Texarkana College in late 2016/ early 2017. Mrs. Seymour had a long history in Texarkana and understands the value of education. She attended Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas, later graduating from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. She moved to Texarkana and taught history at Arkansas High School, and  she also worked as an independent home builder and for the City of Texarkana, Arkansas.

“This gift will have a big impact on our students,” said Katie Andrus, Director of the Texarkana College Foundation. “We are so appreciative of Mrs. Seymour’s generous donation and her commitment to higher education.”

The TC Foundation’s mission is to enhance the overall reputation of Texarkana College, to provide external resources to fund College priorities, and to create opportunities for the college to build partnerships with alumni, friends, donors, corporations and foundations. The Foundation’s goal is to provide TC students with affordable and accessible opportunities in higher education.
