FUN FOR THE HOLIDAYS IS THEME FOR TIGER THEATRE COMPANY’S DUAL CHRISTMAS PRODUCTIONS
Texarkana, TX – Theatre goers will have double the fun during the holidays when they attend Texas High School Tiger Theatre Company’s dual productions of “What Could Go Wrong the Night Before Christmas?” and “Junie B. in Jingle Bells, Batman Smells!”
The delightful show of “What Could Go Wrong the Night Before Christmas?,” by Kim Kao Hines, tells the story of a host who attempts to do a lovely reading of The Night Before Christmas but is stymied by every imaginable interruption. First, the children show up wearing costumes and outfits for all the wrong holidays, then it ends up the mice might not be stirring, but they are shuffling as they play a game of Go Fish. By the time the clatter on the rooftop sounds more like a deafening rock ‘n’ roll drum solo, the poor host is about to have a meltdown! On top of it all, our not-quite-classic (and definitely thinner) Santa stops filling stockings to do a PSA on the dangers of smoking and also plugs the usefulness of stain remover pens.
“Junie B. in Jingle Bells, Batman Smells!,” from Allison Gregory and based upon the best-selling book series by Barbara Park, is a story of Junie B. Jones, a first-grader, who is super excited about the upcoming Holiday Sing-Along and Secret Santa gift exchange at her school. Too bad tattletale May keeps ruining all of Junie B.’s fun. So when Junie B. draws May’s name for Secret Santa, she comes up with the perfect plan to teach her nemesis a lesson! But will the Christmas spirit of peace and goodwill interfere before she can give you-know-who what she deserves?
Performances will be Friday and Saturday, December 15-16 at 6:30 p.m. in the John Thomas Theatre of the Sullivan Performing Arts Center, 3941 Summerhill Road.
Online tickets are available for purchase for $8 (adults) and $4 (students) through www.ttcths.booktix.com. Pricing at the door will be $10 and $5, respectively.
