Cigars, ‘Tinis, and Tunes benefitting Randy Sams’ Outreach Shelter Scheduled for April 19th
Texarkana, TX – Cigars, ‘Tinis, and Tunes, benefitting the Randy Sams’ Outreach Shelter, is scheduled for April 19th, 2018 at Hopkins Icehouse at 7:00 pm. 2Pianos will provide entertainment for the annual event. “We love putting this event together for the community” said Jennifer Laurent, executive director. “It is so much fun and the funds raised make it possible for us to provide vital services for so many in our community. And this year we are adding an exciting new celebrity bartender’s competition featuring Mark Van Herpen, Roger Sheppard and JR Rich. The bartender who raises the most money through votes will be named the champion.
We have been able to block the street in front of the venue this year, providing a space for cigar tasting and more room for guests to enjoy the party.
The event will feature cigars, specialty martinis and heavy hors d’ oeuvres, fantastic entertainment and a silent auction. Tickets are $50 and are available in advance or at the door.
The event is sponsored by 2-Pianos, Accugraphics, Guaranty Bank and Trust, Hopkins Ice House, Puff-N-Stuff, Dr. Cindy Porter, James R. Murphy, EZ Mart Jim Yates Foundation, RMAC Outdoor Advertising/American Signs and Banners, Alamond Photography, Dr. & Mrs. Vernon Shaffer, Fay J’s Private Label Wines, Floyd Capital Management, Lisa & Bobby Howell, Ruth Ellen & Dave Whitt, Schlotzsky’s, Dr. & Mrs. Bryan Griffin, Cordell L. The Randy Sams’ Outreach Shelter is the only completely free shelter of our size serving adult men and women in an 85-mile radius. Already this year more than 100 people have moved from the shelter into permanent housing. Our mission is essential. In 2017 alone, more than 175 people moved into their own housing, 33,000 nights of shelter and more than 20,000 services were provided through the Randy Sams’ Outreach Shelter for residents of the Texarkana community.
The Randy Sams’ Outreach Shelter was developed as a product of a labor of love. Founded in 1996, the Shelter’s mission is to meet the immediate needs of safe temporary lodging and food for the poor and homeless who come into our midst until their return to self-sustained community life.
